It’s been a year since our last Tasting Club, a beautiful winter brunch at Welcome Eatery. It was held on a grey Sunday in July and it eliminated our winter blues. As a result I decided that this winter we would have a whole series.
So we’ve spent the last little while working with some of our local favourites on a selection of events that will warm your heart over the next couple of months. See you there!

Sunday July 19th. 1pm. Cazador.
$65
Dariush Lolaiy loves a good Sunday Roast and he perfected them during his time in the UK. For this event Dariush will create three courses of roast perfection including an appetiser, a main event starring whole roast suckling pig and venison, crispy roast potatoes and veges, yorkshire pudding and the richest gravy you can imagine. Finishing with dessert, a whiskey pudding. Tickets include mulled wine and Antipodes still & sparkling.
Nothing good happened on Mondays until Apero opened on K Rd and owners Mo and Les are making up for that by creating the heartiest three course shared meal you can imagine: housemade terrine, Boeuf Bourguignon with mashed potato and veges, and a souffle. Mo is picking the wines (which means they’ll be epic).
Wednesdays in August, 7pm. Ceremony.
A collaboration between G&H, Ceremony and strategist Rebecca Mills, this is a conversation series focusing on our city and its future. At each event Rebecca will lead a discussion on topics including food systems, energy and transport, and the environment. Gather & Hunt and Ceremony have asked Auckland’s most delicious dessert-creators to provide the sweets.
